RESOLUTION
ESTABLISHING FEDERAL PROGRAMMING AND POLICY PRIORITIES FOR THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE FOR FEDERAL FISCAL YEARS 2024/2025.
WHEREAS, the residents of Albuquerque share common aspirations, ambitions, and purposes that form the goals, missions, and responsibilities of the City of Albuquerque; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque, the State of New Mexico, and the Government of the United States of America form the commonwealth through which these aspirations are expressed, pursued and fulfilled in our community; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest, and the desire of, the City of Albuquerque for the Federal Government to continue with and expand programs that assist local governments to improve public safety, behavioral and public health, housing, indigent care, services for the disabled, protection of the natural environment, improve and maintain critical infrastructure, and help foster sustainable economic development; and
WHEREAS, the Second Session of the 118th Congress of the United States, are anticipated to call for project funding requests for the Community Project Fund and Congressionally Directed Spending measures to fund public infrastructure and community-based service programs for State and Local Governments; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration and the City Council through research and due diligence have identified a list of federal priorities that best utilize the resources and funding programs of the Federal Government to improve the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of Albuquerque; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque Intergovernmental Legislative Relations Committee convened January 17th 2024 and approved a list of projects to be submitted to the City Council as the City of Albuquerque's Federal Priorities for Federal Grant and Congressionally...
